Despite a 50:50 intake at graduate level, and equal or even better qualifications, very few women hold the top roles in real estate when compared with men.

Women’s leadership in property is purportedly trivialised by the belief that only men can close deals.

Throughout their careers, surveys show that the average pay gap between men and women in the real estate industry is 26% in the UK (see RICS salary survey). Why is this?
