Jo is a Chartered Accountant and has worked at British Land for more than 10 years, having joined as an accounts assistant in 2005.
Jo has held a range of roles within British Land across the financial reporting, residential and retail asset management teams. She currently works in corporate tax. Her main area of responsibility is corporate transaction execution, focussing on corporate and tax due diligence work, risk assessment, contract negotiation, pre and post deal structuring and corporate simplification.
Transactions have included the acquisition of a major interest in Paddington Central, the 1.2m sq ft office-led, mixed use estate close to Paddington station, from Aviva Investors for £470m, disposal of a retail and office portfolio to L&G for £220m and the disposal of various Sainsbury’s stores to Deutsche AWM client for £220m.
Since joining the tax team in 2013 Jo has been taking the Chartered Tax Advisor exams and hopes to complete this qualification by the end of 2016. In 2015 she took 6 months off to have a baby and since coming back she has been working to promote the benefits of flexible working.
Jo set up British Land’s Social Committee in 2011 and is the treasurer of BL Pride, British Land’s LGBTA network.
