Partner at Ashurst, Head of Real Estate and Continental Europe
Cristina is a partner at Ashurst, Head of its real estate department in Spain and Head of Continental Europe. Prior to being appointed Head of Continental Europe, she was the first female partner to be elected to the Ashurst Global Board where she served for 5 years. She has also recently been elected President of WIRES.
She has extensive experience advising Spanish and international clients in all areas of the property industry including acquisitions, disposals and construction, fund structuring, joint ventures, real estate financing as well as real estate litigation and arbitration. Cristina also has wide experience in restructuring, distressed transactions and insolvency matters. She advises on all areas of the real estate sector, with particular focus and expertise in the Built Environment, development and distressed spaces. As for types of clients, her focus is on financial institutions and funds as well as developers.
Cristina is listed as a highly regarded individual in the PLC Corporate Real Estate Which Lawyer 2007, a leading lawyer for Real Estate within the Chambers Guide to The Legal Profession and is accredited in independent publications such as Chambers Global, Chambers Europe (Band 1) and Legal 500. In 2012, the British legal publication “The Lawyer” recognised her as one of the most influential lawyers of the year (The Lawyer Hot 100). She has just been awarded this year with the Client Choice Award for Real Estate in Spain.
Cristina studied Law at the University of Barcelona and has a Master in Environmental Management from the Institute of Environmental Investigations in collaboration with the Open International University.
Cristina es Socia de Ashurst, Directora del Departamento Inmobiliario en España y Jefa de Europa Continental. Antes de ser nombrada Directora de Europa Continental, fue la primera mujer a ser elegida miembro de la Junta Directiva Global de Ashurst, donde trabajó durante 5 años. Recientemente también fue elegida presidenta de WIRES.
Tiene una amplia experiencia asesorando a clientes españoles e internacionales en todas las áreas de la industria inmobiliaria, incluyendo adquisiciones, enajenaciones y construcción, estructuración de fondos, empresas conjuntas, financiamiento de real estate, así como litigios y arbitraje de bienes raíces. Cristina también tiene amplia experiencia en reestructuraciones, transacciones en dificultades y asuntos de insolvencia. Ella asesora en todas las áreas del sector inmobiliario, con particular enfoque y experiencia en el entorno construido, el desarrollo y los espacios en dificultades. En cuanto a los tipos de clientes, su atención se centra en las instituciones financieras, los fondos y los desarrolladores.
Cristina figura como una persona muy respetada en PLC Corporate Real Estate Which Lawyer 2007, abogada líder en inmuebles en ‘Chambers Guide to The Legal Profession’ y está acreditada en publicaciones independientes como ‘Chambers Global’, ‘Chambers Europe (Band 1)’ y ‘Legal 500’. Cristina estudió Derecho en la Universidad de Barcelona y tiene una Maestría en Gestión Ambiental del Instituto de Investigaciones Ambientales en colaboración con la Open International University.
